The 1894-S Barber Dime: A Priceless Gem
The legendary 1894-S Barber Dime is one of the rarest dimes. With only 24 made, this dime is a rare find in the world of coins.
Collectors and investors alike want this coin because it is hard to find and has historical value. Finding this rare gem during a normal transaction could make a normal day into a moment that changes your life.
The 1916-D Mercury Dime: A Dime of Distinction
Another rare coin is the 1916-D Mercury Dime, which is known for its unique design with the winged liberty head. It was struck in Denver, and its unique look and small mintage add to its appeal.
Since only 264,000 of these dime were made, coming across one in everyday life is like finding a small work of art that is worth a lot of money.
The 1942/1 Mercury Dime Overdate: A Numismatic Mystery
With the 1942/1 Mercury Dime Overdate, you can enter the world of unknown things. This dime was made during a time of change, so it still has the date from the previous year on it, which makes it even more rare.
It would be lucky to find one of these in circulation, and it would also show how historical details are hidden in common pocket change.

As a result of its small role in the heist movie “Ocean’s Eleven,” the 1913 Liberty Head Nickel became one of the most famous coins in the world.
There are only five known examples of this coin, so the odds of finding one are about the same as winning a small lottery. It is a collector’s dream because of its unique look and long history.
The 1870-S Seated Liberty Dime: A Frontier Relic
The 1870-S Seated Liberty Dime is a rare piece of history from a time when the country was rebuilding after the Civil War. Its low mintage and ability to last through the years make it a symbol of strength.
If you could find one of these dimes in circulation, it would connect you to a very important time in American history.
The 1838-O Capped Bust Half Dollar: A Southern Rarity
The 1838-O Capped Bust Half Dollar is a southern rarity with historical value. It shows how strong New Orleans was in its early days as a minting facility.
Its low mintage and difficult survival make it more valuable to collectors. In modern times, finding this half dollar would be like finding a piece of Southern numismatic history.
The 1873-CC No Arrows Seated Liberty Dime: A Carson City Marvel
When the 1873-CC No Arrows Seated Liberty Dime was struck in Carson City, Nevada, it changed the way people collect coins forever. This dime tells a story of the Old West with its unique mintmark.
Collectors find it even more exciting because they don’t see many of them. To find one in circulation would be like finding a rare artefact from the frontier.
The 1796 Draped Bust Dime: An Early American Rarity
The 1796 Draped Bust Dime is a real gem among collectors because it is one of the first dimes made in the United States. Its link to the early years of the country gives it even more historical weight to its already impressive rarity.
Seeing this dime in circulation would be like going back in time; it would be a real link to the beginning of American money.
The Bicentennial Quarter: A Modern Marvel
The Bicentennial Quarter, a coin celebrating the 200th anniversary of the United States, is the last one on the list. It’s not as old as some of the coins on this list, but its one-of-a-kind design and small mintage make it a modern marvel.
People who may not know they are carrying a piece of numismatic history in their pockets will be surprised to learn that these quarters are still being used.
Conclusion

These coins are valuable for money, but they are also historical artefacts waiting to be found. If you get change next time, pay close attention. You might find a million-dollar treasure hidden away.
What is it that makes the bi-centennial quarter so valuable. What does one need to look for error-wise? So many articles on this coin but most are of no qualitative value in referencing EXACTLY what to look for in a circulated coin that makes it valuable. A MINT coin is understood but most articles are rubbish on circulated bi-centennials.

Hello Tamie,
You have to share details about your coins
Very intestine to know.
I have a small collection that my grandfather has left me from silver dollars 1889 1925 1776 1972.
And Half dollars 1964 1967 1968 1974
Some one dollars coins 1789 color is like gold and two from 1979.
A lot of quarters from 1776
And only 5 cents the one it’s missing one leg it doesn’t show a year but it looks bad I gest that is the reason it lost a leg.
The time you sell this what type of tax is put on it?
Thanks for the information.
If you have an authentic 3 legged buffalo it is a 1937D. Even in poor condition it will bring about $75. But beware, most 3 legged bufs actually had the one leg removed by unscrupulous people trying to cash in. If you believe it authentic you should have it appraised. Avg condition could bring $700, MS up to $5000 or more.
What is the point of this article if you have to go somewhere else for the information.? Something fishy about the reason for this!? Also if someone was searching for a certain error on a certain coin, they are not going to reveal it, ever. So when you post a pic, they see the error , do not mention it, you sell it to them, they get it graded then sell it in auction for thousands, otherwise , there would be more popular auctions!
